So I recently picked up an S2000 with no AC. Of course seller said I just needed to compressor, condenser, hoses and I was good to go. So I purchased the compressor and started the install. After getting the compressor bolted in, I began to look for the power connector and could not find it for the life of me. Turns out the original owner cut the plug(to save 0.005lbs?). I peeled someone the black tape to see if I can splice another connector on. However, I can only find one wire (I think its positive). The negative wire appears to be missing.




Can someone shine some light to how I can fix this? Perhaps an alternative way to power the compressor? I'm not that tech savvy to replace the entire harness on my own.

From the compressor side, the connector has a black and red wire. I assume the harness side should be the same?

 

That wire is the 12v for the compressor clutch

It only has one wire. It gets ground through the compressor body
