Many misconceptions here.

ACT disc is not a repackaged oem, it is a different disc.

I have installed around 25 clutches in the S2000.

Here are the setups:

aprox. 12 Act PP/Comptech FW/oem disc...no buzz
aprox. 6 Act PP/toda FW/ oem disc....no buzz
approx 3-5 full oem....no buzz
1 competition clutches PP/ CC disc/CC flywheel....major buzz
1 CC 6 puck sprung disc/CC PP/comptech flywheel....major buzz

Bottom line, it has proven all my cars without an OEM disc have the buzz. All with the oem disc are buzz-free.

I'll be putting in an ACT PP/ACT disc/oem flywheel soon. My guess is the car will develop the buzz from the ACT disc, which it does not have now.

Hey Billman, My ACT disc installed 3 years ago was identical to the removed OEM disc. Even had "Honda" stamped on the hub.

 

Maybe these latest ACT discs are something new, instead of an oem?

The one I have here has ACT in ink on the friction surface, but Exedy on the center hub. W T F
