Once again a forum user comes to the rescue. I now have the very elusive Hamsar 45060 DRL module on order. Thanks for the tip.

I'd have to recommend this vendor, Terminal Supply. I ordered on Friday with regular shipping and I received it today, Wednesday. If the project goes well on the S2000, I will do the same thing to my Acura TL.

having a silver coloured s2000 in Canada I can say that I've come close to being hit by people that don't see me approaching or being near them. A car without DRL's in Canada is more dangerous IMO, I see it happening on a regular basis, you have a dim car in a see of lights, people just don't expect to see you and silver blends into the background pretty easilty, not like Yellow.

I have a US spec car in Canada and I definitely need to do the upgrade before it goes back on the road next year.

Bringing this back from the dead, how would you wire it so that all lights comes on (HID) when the car is on? I don't like DRL and only want it on for the import exam.

Thanks.

run a wire from the spare connector in the under dash fuse panel that comes on with 12 volts when ignition is turned on and t-tap it to the blue/red wire that runs behind the steering wheel light switch connector. This will turn on the HID's, without turning on the parking lights. I'm running a setup like this using a denso relay and a fuse for permanent use, but you can run it directly for a temporary setup. It's very easy to do. There are three spare connectors in the underdash fuse panel, one is ground, one is 12 volts 24/7, and one is 12 volts with ignition key turned on. Use a basic electrical spade to connect onto it, slides in easily and have it wired to the blue/red lighting wire.

BTW if anyone wants a plug and play DRL kit using the Hansmar module I have one available. I bought two kits initially and ended up using one. The one I have available runs the high beams at 40 percent, the setup is the same as listed by the OP, but with pretty much all wiring connections done for you. I bought the kit from a fellow forum member who made it and is a mechanical engineer, I never used it so it is in original new condition. PM me if anyone wants it, I'll sell it cheap as I don't need it.

Why would you use the HIDs as the daytime running lights? They are supposed to be amber
