Default aem cai install...

I just got my cai! Using the search function, most people used a dremel to cut. My question is did anyone use something other than a dremel? I dont have a dremel. Any suggestions? Thanks all, you guys are the best

the plastic is thin you can cut it with an exacto knife if you wish.

no problem, I suspect from the amount of times i've heard the word dremel used on s2ki that this is the only tool anyone has in their toolbox anymore.

I don't know how I would go through life without my dremel

If you don't have a dremel, I hear that heating up a utility knife works good too.

Much easier with a dremel and it'll probably come out cleaner. If it doesn't turn out so clean with exacto knife you can always cover up hole nicely with grille tech side grill.

Thanks guys for all the insight. Previous posts made the install a lot easier, although it still took about 4 hours (search function rocks!). The reason it took so long was I wasted a lot of time finding the right tools. i.e. i didnt have batteries for the flashlight (used sisters cd walkman's batteries) needed shorter screwdrivers for those damn plastic pushpins. I used a saw to make the cuts. It came out ok because I used a file to smooth out the edges.
I ran into two problems. 1) one of the washers for the rubber mounts didnt fit so i had to scrounge around for one. 2) the kit came with a 30 inch 5/32 hose. I followed all directions to the t yet, no mention of this hose!. The CEL didnt go on and there isnt any place for this hose. I am thinking that the kit is universal to some cars and they just threw it in. Did anyone have this problem?
As for gain, my friend and i drove the car before and after install. Wow the sound is great and the back breaks lose easier on turns with some throttle. Butt dyno from both of us says that there is gain, not s/c gain, but noticable gain. The big difference is when the engine is heat soaked i.e. driven for over an hour straight, the motor still revs great I definately enjoy this mod and recommend it to all. If I had to do it again it would prob take less than 2 hours if that.
