Default AEM CAI Maintenance

Water/debris gets to the filter. Do we need to oil it as well as clean it? How often?

Is it safe to drive with the AEM CAI in heavy rain? Is it even smart? Water can't be good for the filter.

If you get the filter wet a lot, you should clean it more often... Water inherently carries more contaminants through the filter... When it dries, the contaminants are now behind the filter.

Maybe you should look into the Air Bypass Valve.

Slightly - it probably creates a bit more turbulence in the tube...

Mainly, there will be an unnecessary loss of funds.

The fact that AEM promotes this non-problem (sure it CAN happen, but c'mon) is the reason I made the decision to buy Injen. This problem/product creation irritates me, so I decided not to give AEM my money. An insurer could sell hydrolock policies for half the price of the bypass and still make money.

I'll take it one step further and say that even with the valve, you can still hydrolock the engine...
