Default AEM pros, need some advice..

For Start-ups, it seems that I have to hold down the start button longer than usual? Stock seemed to start right away, maybe one turn over. The AEM needs a 3 or more turnovers to start up. Any thoughts? It seems like gas is taking a while to hit the injectors.

For Idle, I can tell the idle is not constant, but can barely tell on the digital tach. So the idle is subtlely bouncing between 100 rpms at about 1K..

All thoughts welcome, thank you in advance.

Well, be glad that you're running the new V1.11 software. The old stuff was not as consistent car to car.

Startup usually does take a few cranks with the EMS. You can play with some settings to try and bring it down a bit, but frankly if you're not experienced, I recommend either deferring to a professional (experienced) tuner. You can also spend some time reading the manual (.pdf format on your installation CD-ROM).

On the idle, you can go into the idle tables and play with the idle % vs. target table and the idle target base table. Chances are you'll need to tweak it a bit for a totally smooth idle. Many cars like a little more fuel at idle as well to smooth it out. There are many additional functions to play with on the advanced idle wizard, but again, be cautious.

The obvious question then is what other mods does the car have?

UL, thank you for the response. I have a tuner that has done 2 S2Ks and I am the 3rd. I am just trying to get extra feedback. Any details welcome..

Mods, Intake, Header, Exhaust and PnP.. Nothing big..

A local owner who does his own EMS tuning on his turbo S2k mentioned something about an EMS forum. He said a lot of his knowledge came from there. I don't know the URL, but hopefully it isn't difficult to Google for.

The forum is available directly on AEMs website. It's a pretty informative place overall with some good EMS info available.
