Okay well yesterday I started noticing a weird sound coming from my motor, its like someone blowing into a straw kind of sound. I even took my coil packs off just to investigate a little and I turned the engine over with a breakover bar from the crank, and when i turn it, you can hear that sound when it turns over. I can seem to hear it a little better with the coils out. Does anyone have a clue what this could be?

Mine always sounds like it's drawing air someplace, gets louder with the airbox lid off.

Mine is much louder with the airbox lid off too. It's probably just the engine drawing air in.

if its a new sound, and you didn't mess with the air intake, then check to make sufre nothing came loose

Did a check engine light come on?

Only reason i ask is because i just put in a X-brace and from too much force of trying to get the brace to fit i kind of broke off a little nipple from a little box where a vacuum line goes into and now there is a little suction noise and it kicked a check engine light as well....

well I know its not the intake, but if I put my ear right up to the spark plug holes i can hear the air, it sounds like its just like blowing out somewhere, I also did a compression check today..the numbers were:

#1 #2 #3 #4
180 180 150 120

I'm thinking it is something serious like that b/c the CEL came on and started blinking, I immediately turned the car off..and when I came out to put a scan tool on it real quick the light was off again and hasnt turned back on.
Could this be bent valves?
