air pump

$900 is high. The air pump can be purchased online for under $500. It shouldn't take more than a couple hours to install.

And as others noted, it might not be the air pump itself that is bad. It could be a fuse or a bad hose somewhere.

I have a whole air pump assembly that's not more than 16,000 miles old. If you're interested, private message me and I can get you pics and whatever you need.

It's an easy swap...if you're not incline to do it, then ask some of the locals that are weekend wrenches.

Like all mechanical parts, they fail. Sometimes earlier than you think they should.

The pump runs at EVERY cold start. It's a DC electric motor with moving parts and wearing carbon brushes. I hate to say it, but shit happens.

If you run over a nail in your brand new 05 S2k, is it Honda's fault?
No it isn't. They didn't install the nail in the tire.
