Default Alarm woes.

Since I got my car back in May the alarm (factory)/ remote hasn't been very responsive. Meaning it won't lock/ unlock when I press the buttons. Sometimes it would work the 1st time and sometimes it would take a few tries. But now it is even worse. It also doesn't arm itself so I have to lock it with the key.

I replaced the battery for the remote even though the LED comes on every time.

Should I try getting a new remote or take it to the dealer?

sometimes i hammer all of the buttons as i walk towards the car, and it'll finally work when i'm 3 feet away from the door. AWESOME! might as well stick the key in the fricken door and unlock it manually.

it has the worst keyfob i've ever experienced (my older acura keyfobs worked flawlessly from 30, 50, 100 feet away).

do you have the second keyfob?

My friend with a 2000 s2000's remote sucks. I think they improved them for the ap2s or maybe past '01.

My AP1 was always fine...but either way I would definitely advise you to take it to the dealer.

I only have 1 remote so I was thinking I should get another one and see if that works. Should I tell them I need a later year (02+) remote?

My alarm goes out every once in a while and the remote does not activate

I just replug the connections to the box and it works fine for a few months, until they loosen up again.
I thinks its because I move the seat alot, usually closer for AutoX and hill country runs, and farther back for my daily commute or i could have crappy connections

So I should check the unit under the seat?

So I finally got a new remote. Went to the dealer and asked for the factory alarm remote and they gave me the factory keyless entry one instead. Didn't realize it until I got home and noticed it didn't make the led flash. So where can I get the remote for the alarm??

So nobody knows where I can get the remote for the alarm system? Do the dealers only carry the remote for keyless entry system?

Also lately my remote has been setting off alarms at stores like Ralph's supermarket. I tested it by waving the remote next to the sensors and it sets it off. Anyone else experience this?? Lol.
