Default Analog Gauges???

I was hoping to see some one talk about some things Honda left off my S2K. Some accessories!!!! 1). oil pressure gauge 2). a real temp gauge, 3). 2nd cup holder, etc. Has any one installed after market gauges on the left windshield support bracket? I asked my service guy at Unicars Honda about the temp bar, and they said if the car starts to over heat the computer shuts down 1 or 2 cylinders, the car will then not burn the motor but will run like crap. It would be a lot easier looking at a gauge that said the real temperature instead of a bunch of colored bars. I could then turn on the heater full blast, and make a good judgement of what to do, like I always have on all my other cars. Any way, any good ideas out there???

Whoever you were talking to at Unicars Honda is full of it. If the car gets too hot it burns up like any other. Rick's Accessories was taking a poll on supplemental gauges.. check with him (with search down it is hard to point you more precisely).

I doubt the S has it, but some cars do. I know the Expedition/Excursion will either shut down a bank or intermitantly fire to cool down.

Triton engines also feature an electronic fail-safe cooling system that alerts the driver to overheating or loss of coolant and automatically begins an alternating sequence of cross-bank, half-cylinder firing to help protect the engine against damage.

There is a company that's making an A pillar gauge pod. If you look in the Hyper Rev book, you'll notice someone has already made one, only on the wrong pillar

Anyways, do a search and you'll find it.. I know I've seen it in the last couple of months.

Also, just something to consider.. The S2000 has a good cooling system already. If your temp guage climbs above 3 bars, I would be concerned. I would shut it down before it got anywhere past 4 bars. I wouldnt want to warp that head.... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Cha-Ching.

Yup.
The S2000 has a good cooling system built in. Plus the engine management just cools things down by taking out timing and adding fuel. Honda built the complete package really. That's why all of our money spent on mods doesnt get us very far. Already one hell of a car.
