Default any news on the S/C "issue"

Just wondering if there is anything new with al the stuff about the S/C. A week ago or so everybody was talking about the bracket cracking with the Ghostbooster. Now what I wanna know is..........a is there a "fix" for why there is a need for a GB, and is there a fix for the broken brackets. I really would like the S/C and am interested but....the "need" for a "fix" of the S/C has me puzzled. I am in no way flaming the S/C or Comptech ......I just would like some thngs cleared up before plunking down 5g's.

I've not heard of anyone who's not running GhostBooster compaining of any problems. The 1 lb cracking pressure valve seems to have fixed all of the problems. The 3 lb valve fixed everything for me. These problems have been fixed for months. Buy that SC!

Its the bracket cracking that has me a little worried. Awhile back Comptech came on here and was saying that the G/B is causing the brackets to crack and everyone else was saying that it would probably crack anyway because of the vibrations. then people where talking about a balance issue (of what they where going to bablnce was never revealed). then the whole thing dissapeared.

You might not want to listen to everything people say on here, there is much speculation. If it cracks, you'll hear it vibrating, you call Comptech - they send you new brackets...where's the risk?

I have to second Wesmaster. I've had my supercharger for over 7000 miles without any problems. The 1 lb check valve took care of everything.

The last I heard from Shad/Comptech was that Shad was going to perform some stress analysis on the brackets in the hope of identifying the reason for the bracket failures. He said he is still trying to persue a GB solution and that he has not given up on it. But, he is also confident that the current check valve setup provides a "99%" solution. I don't nesscesarilly agree with that figure but I must say that with the warmer weather the car has been running very well. There still exist a couple throttle response issues in my mind but i can live with those for now. The big issue for me is check valve performance on cold foggy mornings. It takes around 15 minutes for the check valve to start working correctly on those mornings.

So far no one has confirmed a bracket failure during use of the check valve setup. However there is a report of a bracket failure from Texas I believe but more details are needed.

I will see if I can get more info about the broken brackets in Texas. Also, I would have to agree with dave on all driveability issue
