Default Any tips on installing an x-brace and STB?

I hope to be putting both on in the next day or two. Should I put the car on jacks to do the x-brace? Should it be installed with the suspension loaded or not loaded? Does it use the existing bolts, or do they get replaced? Thanks!

I installed my x-brace about a week ago. I put the car on a jack on only one side. Luckily, I'm skinny enough to fit under, although this way is not recommended of course. The x-brace should have come with 4 bolts to replace the stock bolts underneath the car. If not, you got ripped off.

My Xbrace was a breeze to install. I used 4 jackstands to level the car. Just get the bolt started and then move on to the next one. You may need some play to line up all the holes easily. The xbrace will come with longer cap/allen type screws.

Comptech has two stb's that install differently because of the design. I've had them both. Neither was very hard.

For the x-brace, put the front of the car on jack stands so you can 1) reach the bolts and 2) not have the car fall on you and kill you. Use the bolts supplied with the x-brace. Don't worry about the suspension, it won't matter. Like Ubetit said, get all four bolts partly started then tighten them in sequence until they're set.

To confirm, doesn't matter about the suspension being loaded or not. The braces don't really bolt to any moving suspension parts. However, the car should be jacked up evenly. ie. Put BOTH sides of the car on stands, not just jacking up one side. You don't really want to bolt those things on when the frame is twisted or under uneven load. If you only jack up one corner, the car will be under diagonal twisting. When you bolt on the braces in that configuration and then lower the car, it may not be able to "unwind".

Well got them done. The stb was easy, but it does press down on my intake tube a bit. Will that cause any problems?

The x-brace was kinda funky. I tried it in one direction and it wouldn't line up at all. Turned it around and it fit perfectly. I thought it was symmetrycal; clearly I was wrong.
