AP 2 Transmission Jumping out of 2/nd gear?
2005 s2k with 38,000 light duty miles: I've only had the car for 6 months and put 3,000 relatively easy miles on it, the guy i bought it from was the original owner and, like me, in his 60's so the car has never been abused and bone stock. I've noticed that on occasion the transmission will jump out of 2/nd gear during deceleration - quite annoying to say the least and quite "un-Honda".
I understand that this was a problem, due to a manufacturing tolerance shortcoming, and that there was a Service Bulletin issued for this. No recall, not that this would work on a 12 year old car.
When I brought the car home, at 35,000 miles, I changed all of the fluids including the transmission and used the Spec Honda Fluid. Since I changed it as soon as i got it home i can't say whether this jumping out of gear is better or worse.
Can anyone provide me with the real issue and remedy to address this?
thanks!
