Is there a difference in the heads? or are they the same? I see there are two different part numbers.

 

2000-2005 heads have air chambers cast into them for the air pump system, you don't want them if you have an 06+ s2k, and you don't want a 06+ head if you own a 2000-2005 s2k (unless you kill the air pump system and block off the intake manifold air pump port). The cams are different between AP1 and AP2, as are the retainers, not sure about valvesprings, but I think you are just asking about the bare head correct ?.

 

Correct...so if I have an 03 and the air pump is deleted...I could use any head.

 

Assuming the ap1 intake manifold and manifold gasket fits the 06+ head, maybe someone else can confirm this.

 

The heads seem to be identical as far as casting other than the air ports so it should work. Ill find out today I guess lol!
