Looks like I might have found a couple of the ap1 retainers on the east coast. Thanks for all the help guys.

That's not quite how solo II rules work. I cannot go and take the springs from a MY00 and run them on MY02 unless they have the same part number or Honda says they the new replacement part.

I give you an example. I had a 93 Sentra SE-R. Nissan gave the clutch from a 2000 Sentra as the new replacement part. The newer clutch will hold 20% more power than the older clutch but since Nissan said the new clutch replaces the old one, then it is legal.

Ok, so you will put in retainers knowing damn well for the same money you can get retainers for the same car but a different year that are more durable, and you'll take the crappier ones.

I think thats more stupidity than honesty.

Welcome to the world of racing and competition. Especially SCCA autocross. The rules are the rules, whether they make sense or not.

While I agree with the interpretation of the rules, unless you're trying to be a national champion it just won't matter. If you're concerned that someone will call you out, just preemptively tell your competition what you've done. Only a weinie would protest you at the regional level.
