Ap2 diff in ap1 ?
hi im considering installing a ap2 diff in my ap1. What is required to do the swap? Does anyone here know maybe Billman can chime in?

Backlash is not set by changing the flange.
The torque load on the pinion nut needs to be a minimum of 94 foot pounds and the turning torque is 12 inch pounds. You will also want to replace the pinion nut with a new pinion nut.
The torque specs I listed are for a fresh book setup your torque numbers will vary because the rear is all together and is wet with gear lube.
You basically want a slight amount of resistance on the flange when you turn it. If you over torque the nut you will have to disassemble the rear and replace the distance piece (crush sleeve) then start over….Good luck
