Will an AP2 rear diff work in a 2000 AP1?

Default Will an AP2 rear diff work in a 2000 AP1?

Just like the title says..

Blew out my diff in my 2000 AP1.. Will an AP2 diff bolt right in?

I believe you need to swap out the drive shafts, but other than that...it will work

Yes it will work, but you will need to swap the part that bolts to the driveshaft from your AP1 differential. If you don't the drive shaft will not bolt to the differential. Just replacing the driveshaft will NOT work!! The AP2 driveshaft will not bolt to AP1 transmission or Differential. ...Or you could swap the transmission, driveshaft, and differential.

Bringing it back, can someone confirm torque rating on the transmission flange nut. Also car in gear or not?

You need to lock the transmission to install the nut, spec is 119 -> 0 -> 119 ft lbs

By lock you mean leave in gear or another way?

Or lock the crank, I don't think leaving it in 6th offers enough resistance. You could use a breaker bar against the sub-frame and the crank bolt that plus 6th ought to do it.
