Default A'PEXi VAFC II Settings

Hi!

Could someone please give me the correct settings for the A'PEXi VAFC II in combination with a S2000?!

The color of the "joystick" changes from green to red at 6.600rpm, not at 5.800rpm or 6.000rpm!!

In the menu "VTEC Info" it says: VTEC IN 6.600rpm, VTEC OUT 5.650rpm.

The fuel cut comes on 8800rpm, not at 9070rpm!!

I left all settings at default, but corrected the "Display Scale from 6.000rpm to 10.000rpm".

I use the adapter from VTECFROG.

Thanks a lot!!

first you can go here for general VAFC settings for the S2000. however, you must dyno the car to get it tuned properly, as these settings are a simple general rule of thumb. each car is different, and you dont want to use these settings without getting it dyno'd, otherwise you could run too rich or too lean and cause problems.

just curious, does the VAFC help much on an s2k? n if so, how much power gains should we expect atleast from one?

00-02's (I believe) run rather rich, especially from 8-9k. You can either swap to an 03 ECU or run a VAFC. I think the gains are around 10whp.

I hope you are wrong on the 00-02 to have the richer ECU. I thought the 00-01 had the richer ECU and then the 02-03 had the leaner ECUs...........Im only hoping you are wrong because I just ordered an 02 ECU.

Hi!

Thanks a lot!

Yes, I know this!!

First, I will let the settings for air/fuel ratio and vtec in/vtec out ... on "neutral", so that the values from the ECU are taken!

I only want to know the GENERAL settings (VTEC TYPE, disp-scale, Sensor No, ...)!!

I will follow the link Wisconsin S2k postet!

Thanks!

I checked my settings in the "etc"-Menu:

Sensor No: In "06" Out "06"
Car Select: Cyl "4" Thr "arrow-right-up" V/T "1"
Disp Scale: Pr "0kPa" Ne "10000rpm" Cr "+- 3%"

This settings are default, except Ne, which was "6000rpm" (but because the S2000 gets over 9000rpm ...)

V/T Info says:
V/T Info: L->H "6600rpm"

The Manual says about the "V/T Info" menu: "In the V-AFC II, VTEC changeover points of the factory ECU are learned and the learning information is displayed. ..."

But why the hell it tells "6600rpm" instead of "5800rpm"?? Does my ECU goes to VTEC on 6600 instead of 5800???

Does someone have (or had) the same problem?

Your factory setting should be 6000 RPM for VTEC. I set my VAFC-II to 5900 RPM
witch is the same as the Spoon ECU setting for VTEC.
I plan to go to a Dyno to do the rest of the tunning.

You are correct. It was the first two years that ran richer than '02+.

FWIW, my VTEC engagement is set at 4800 rpm.
