ATE SL.6 Brake Fluid
I would like to change my brake and clutch fluid to ATE Sl.6 Brake Fluid. Is this fluid okay to use? I read it is thinner than ATE SB and will run better for daily use in the brakes and clutch.
All DOT 3, 4 and 5.1 brake fluids are ok to use for brakes & clutch.
ATE SL.6 is a DOT 4 fluid (so its ok to use) and as you mentioned a lot thinner when cold.
I've been using it for a while now and noticed faster ABS pulsing when braking on snow / ice.
So for the brakes of a DD car I recommend it!
Also, the clutch pedal feels smoother.
It made a huge difference with my ACT PP setup, especially in low temps.
In an OEM clutch setup you don't really need a thinner fluid but it won't hurt.
The service interval for the SL.6 is 2 years.
