Default An automotive question not about the S2k

Does anyone know how much boost your average Semi runs? Like a Kenworth or Peterbilt? I seen many that have Behemoth Garrett Turbochargers and often dreamed of slapping one of those on a Civic and taking bets as to how long the engine would last.

Problem is a civic would not be able to push enough air to drive the turbo. Plus that is a diesel

Our firetrucks are 350 cu. in. diesels running on turbos. These turbos push up to 20 psi and more. You need displacement to turn such large turbos. Vananron is right about a Civic not having enough exhaust volume to run such a blower.

ovenbooster, i also wish this was possible but it isn't happening. btw i come from a family who was in the trucking business and i just love driving the kenworth, peterbilts or macks and hearing those turbos spool up(i actually learned to drive with a manual transmission with a 1990 mack dump truck back when i was 12). oh yeah, nothing beats turning on the jake brake late at night in the middle of a neighborhood(j/k). brrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

i'm with them... even at full throttle and redline you would never have enough exhaust flow to even start turning one of those turbo's
