FYI, i had a ruined wheel bearing, repeatedly re-tightened the axle nut and the oscillating textbook noise would always return. I could raise the car and the wheel would NOT wobble at all. I put the rear end on jack stands and spun the wheels using engine power and the wheel in question would WOBBLE very slightly.

Billman told me hat the bearing wasnt seated correctly or something so i replaced it and no more problems.
