Default Bad Engine bogging, no CEL

I had an emergency and had to jump in the S and leave quickly, not letting the car warm up. It had rained the night before pretty heavy at times, but my drain hole is pluged up and havent had any problems over the last 3 months when it rained. It drove fine but when i hot 4-5 thousand rpms it would bog badly. I didnt try to hit vtec. When the temp bar reached 3 bars at a traffic light i turned the car off and on and it did it again around 4-5k. I noticed the first time it happened a big puff of smoke came out of the exhaust. It hasnt done it since, idle is fine seems to to drive fine. Could it have been a map or 02 sensor issue? Like I said no cel. And if there was water in my intake it would have drove like crap and probably would have hydrolocked as soon as I started it up and drove?

Not to mention its been in the high 30s and 40s and was cold when i didnt let the car warm up

It sounds like the filter might have been soaked or wet...or there could have been a little water in the filter.

damn after all the torrential rains we had in October, I had no problems. Ive only read about the hydrolock issues, my drain holes are plugged and doesnt leak any water. the plastic under the bumper and in the wheel wheel is only cut to the diameter of the intake pipe. if there was a little water, whats the cheances that it did some damage to my engine. It didnt stall out just bogged at around 4-5k, only a couple of times, after i parked my car and shut it off i returned about 15 mins later and the problem was gone. I had no check engine lights, ill do a compression test tomorrow just to make sure.

the bogging didnt happent until maybe 5-10 minutes into my driving, and my temp gauge wasnt at operating temp. It would only bog at that rpm range. If there was water in there i probably would have stumbled or bogged as soon as i started driving. Anyway thx for the reply back i appreciate it
