The top one is the proper one, although the bottom one will work too. Do you need just one or both? I have 2 for sale but I'd like to keep them together.

Let me know if you want them.

Be careful with mixing ballasts - I did that and one of my OEM lights comes up more blue, and the other more white. It had to do with having ballasts worn at different intervals I think, or that I mixed my "open circuit voltages"

I see thanks! Do you remember which one of these ballast styles you had? What year is your s2?

I have a MY02 . Both of my ballasts were the 2nd one pictured in your OP. However one of them had a different "open circuit voltage" than the other. I'd assume that is why I ended up having one bulb light up bluer, and one light up whiter. I installed brand new OEM bulbs too.

Either that, or one of my ballasts was significantly more worn than the other. I installed used ones since new ones cost an arm and a leg.

Be careful also assuming what parts to order before you take the lights out - mine turned out to be after a guy had wired in custom ballasts, etc. It cost me around $500 bucks to fix the mess he made with the wiring. I'd advise you pull the headlights before you buy any parts just to make sure someone didn't stick something aftermarket on there.
