Default Battery problems

Hi everyone. I'm a new owner of a 2003 model but am having a serious problem with flat batteries. I replaced the original with a new one but it still discharges from full to empty in 2/3 days. The original is holding its charge fine so that wasn't the problem. I can't find anything left on and don't use the alarm in case that is the problem. Can anyone help please. John

Any aftermarket stereo that requires an amp? Could be a bad remote for the amp. is it the factory alarm? If not check with a multimeter to see if its the problem. Basically, check any aftermarket components installed that require the battery first. Check the alternator as well just to rule it out, make sure its making 12-14 volts when its running.

Any more details on the car, it may help to get more responses.

This will probably do better in "under the hood" also.

Thanks for replying. As far as I know it has no aftermarket components including the alarm and I have checked the alternator which is working fine. I have posted it "under the bonnet" as well. Hopefully I'll find out what is causing it and let you know. John

is your battery discharging while the car is sitting for those days or are you driving it?
