Default Bent Front Fender Lip

My car has 225/40/18s up front running -1.0 degree camber w/ correct offset and rolled fender lips, but they obviously weren't quite rolled enough! The car is lowered 1" on Koni Yellows and Eibach springs and after slowly turning hard right into a gently sloping driveway, the tire hit the fender lip and bent the crap out of it... for the 2nd time. I ran the car with the stock shocks with the Eibachs for 2 years and replaced them w/ the Konis this past summer.

The gap between the top of the tire and the closest point at the top of the lip is a little over 1.5 fingers tall. Both sides measure the same distance. Since the lip was previously rolled and is now thrashed, I'm thinking it would be easiest to either get a fresh OEM fender and have it rolled then painted or buy a used OEM AP1 fender in the right color and then roll it once it's on the car.

Any opinions would be helpful. I've noticed issues similar to this in threads about track S2ks, but mine is a daily driver since new and I want to get the car back to where I'm not worried about bending it (or destroying a 3rd front tire) every time I drive it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the input, S2K-F8. Sorry to draw a blank, but can you tell me what fender finisher is? Thanks.

Sorry I didn't go into much detail....it was late when I first replied.

The Fender Finisher is another tool from Eastwood (the people that make the fender rollers). You can go on their website to check it out. It's basically like pliers with rubber pads on each end. After you have rolled your fenders, you use the finisher to pinch them up. You can get them pinched so far up that it's almost metal to metal. This doesn't give the tire any lip to grab and destroy your fender.

I was in a similar situation as you. I originally just rolled my fronts, but my tire caught one of the front tabs and pulled it down and pushed it out. Luckily I was able to use a fender roller to get the lip back in and rolled back up. Then I used the finisher to pinch the lip up....haven't had an issue since.

Many thanks for the fender roller tip. Received mine from Eastwood and was able to get the lip pushed back from the tire enough to eliminate the contact. Much appreciated!
