Default Best way to replace the Driver side engine mount

Hey guys, trying to see if there is a easy way to replace the driver side engine mount. I’ve tried from below but I can’t seem to have enough clearance/room to unbolt the mount or bracket. Can anyone recommend me an easy way to accomplish this?

Thanks

you must mean the passenger side mount if you're talking about the turbo manifold. undo both motor mounts and jack up the engine and replace.

try a swivel and some extensions, a wrench won't help you from underneath on the top bolt

Only thing I can tell you is that it was a PITA on the passenger side for me as well. We removed the four nuts on the bottom of the mounts (two per mount) then jacked the engine up a bit to gain a bit more clearance around the bolts that hold the bracket to the block. Then it was a matter of wiggling different shaped wrenches in there to loosen the bolts holding the bracket to the block, and wiggling our hands in there to remove the bolts. Then somehow magically get the bracket/mount out from under the car somehow (lol) then remove the top nut that is holding the mount to the bracket. No way around it, there is minimal room for wrenches and hands. Its a PITA but hopefully removing the bottom nuts off both mounts and jacking up the engine a bit will give you more room.

Actually its the driver side. I just wanted to note I have a turbo just in case I needed to loosen the bolt of the passanger side(Which would involve me removing the turbo housing).

just did this install yesterday in the driveway. Jack up the engine just enough to take off some of the load, then undo all the bolts, and jack it up just enough so you can wiggle the mount, there is almost enough room for the mount to come out, but I needed to jack the engine up a little more for it to come out. You dont want to jack it up too much. offset wrenches are helpful too.

Did you need to unscrew both engine mount bolts when doing this or just the Driver Side?

both to get the engine high enough. you can do the pass side one from the bottom though that way you don't have to mess with your manifold

You do both of them from the bottom. You can do one at a time that way it will keep the motor aligned. The engine only needs to be jacked up an inch or 2 to slide out the d/s.

Ok so i would need to remove the turbo housing since it sits like half a inch over where the passenger side mount screws in. Thanks for the info.

I don't see why you would need to remove the turbo housing... You don't need to unscrew the passenger side mount from above... you need to remove the two nuts from underneath on the passenger side mount.

Remove two nuts from underneath passenger side mount
Remove to nuts from underneath driver side mount
Jack up engine a bit by placing jack under oil pan
Wiggle hands around with wrench and loosen three (I think) bolts holding engine mount bracket to block on driver side
Remove those three bolts completely
Remove driver engine mount, still attached to bracket, so remove the mount and bracket as one piece
