Default Blocking off the heat riser on the head

Okay so I am in the middle of a rebuild, and have my motor apart. I was curious if it was safe to block the heat riser off on the head to reduce the heat going to the intake mani. I all ways did this on any V8 I had built but I have not found any post on this subject, for an F20C I don't see why it would hurt anything, besides taking a bit longer to warm up on cold days. I can testify it did give a few pony's back on a V8 application by eliminating it.

Just looking for some input thanks

Search for the hondata Intake Manifold gasket. I think your asking to do what it does. Maybe

What's the heat riser? Are you talking about the breather?

The heat riser, If you look at the side of the head on the Exhaust side . You will see that odd looking plate between the header and valve cover, with a bunch of 8mm head bolts in it. that is the heat riser. it collects heat from the exhaust, and sends it through the back of the head through a port to the intake manifold to heat it up.

I am talking about blocking the port off the allows the heat to travel to the in take.

That is not a heat riser like a older V8.

This is a air injection manifold cover, if you plan on using a stock computer the air injection needs to be functional if you'd like to be CEL free.

Air is pumped into the exhaust ports to warm the catalytic converter quickly to reduce cold start emissions.

this is another option---block the coolant line that runs from the block to the intake manifold---it's cheap and easily reversable as well
