Yeah, I've got one and find it absolutely indispensible - especially at the track.

That's genius, especially the extra bits and bobs it does, like record highest rpm.

/added to shopping list.

First off, I accidentally resurrected this thread from 5 years ago. Sorry about that, but if you are suggesting that the best shift point is 8600 because that's where peak power is, then I must disagree. Although that is peak power point, more power is gained at 8600-9000 than in the first 400 rpms of the next gear, therefore, you keep your foot in as long as possible to get more power AND increase the engagement point of the next gear. Double win if done correctly, and a big difference in acceleration.

So you're telling me shifting at 8600 is more efficient than 9000?

To maximize area under the power curve, you must shift a nanosecond before fuel cut

what I meant was not to really make it bounce where the fuel cut off is, but let the red line BLINK TWICE before you shift. if you don't know what i'm talking about, watch you redline before it actually bounces back down and see what it does. it WILL blink before the rev limiter cuts in! I meant to say BLINK not BOUNCE sorry??
lol i l know what you mean

..guess I'm not the only geezer here that may need a hearing aide...

What about memorizing engine sound at shift time?
