I hit mine daily. My theory is that the best shift point is right at the first bounce. If you get it just right (talkin milliseconds lol) it seems to bounce and fall down into the right rpm for the next gear faster. I might be trippin but it really seems to help with quick shifts. Kinda makes sense if you figure that an electronic fuel cut is probably faster than I can lift the accelerator.

My revs don't drop when the rev limiter engages; The revs just stop increasing, just before they hit 9k.

The only time I hit the limiter on purpose is when autocrossing, and then only when either a) spinning the tires, or b) at the end of a straight where I'll lose more time by shifting than I will by riding the limiter.

The Modifry shift beeper makes it almost impossible to hit the limiter accidently.

LOL!! That's a good one. I've been wondering what the response has been on these redline shift beepers, and from what i've read just in this thread it is a pretty good one. This is going to have to be the next MOD i do to my car.

You have to play gear shifts with power limits of the car... you want to be able to shift up so that the powerband of the engine is perfect, without going past the peak power point of the previous gear... so changing from lets say 9k will drop rpm to 6500 and stay in higher section of power band. whereas if you change at 8.5k then it could drop to 6200 and not remain in a higher state of engine power.

I am not familiar with the S2k rpms, but it works for my car, just try and stay in the highest torque point possible when upshifting.

Tinkfist, if you're able to ignore the beeper, get a louder buzzer.

Nickamsweet, in cars that have the F20C, you have to shift from first to second at redline to avoid dropping entirely out of VTEC.
The shift beeper is one of the best, easiest, and cheapest modes we've made to the car.

Hahaha, according to my data logger, horsepower drops to zero when I hit the rev limiter.
