No fun... Just had mine replaced through my local dealership (warranty expired ). AHM was willing to cover half...which left me $1800.00 out of pocket. Good luck. If you are *within* warranty, there is every reason to believe, provided the dealer is decent, that you will be covered under warranty. Again, good luck though.

Its threads like this that scare me. I am looking to sell my S2000 just replaced the diff for the 1st time at 60,000 miles. It was done in by a weekend at the Dragon. Probably 6-7 laps 11 miles long 318 curves!!! It wa my 3rd trip down there no issues before that so it was due! I did though have the inner CV joint replaced 1 time before that at 50K so I wonder if that shaking caused the diff to go sooner.

Reason why the thread scares me having said that. I never dropped the clutch doing street racing or drag racing but just drove the car well and it failed at 60K others are going at 25K!!!

I see lots of cars out there for sale with 20-30K on the dial and wonder............how soon are those diffs gonna go. And at 3K + to replace it...............its gonna suck! Just wish that people looking at my car will understand that 60K on the OEM diff. and it just being replaced IS A GOOD THING!

For all those who have the differentials going early, did you change the differential fluid at all?

I've resolved to keep my differential oil changed every 5k-7500 miles to see if that keeps it from grenading.

When my differential went at 25k miles, I hadn't changed the oil yet. I think with the new one, I may change it out sooner to see if it makes a difference.
