Default Bucking and "ticking"

Not a mechanic at all so please no laughing. anyway under low acceleration around 3k - 4k in the rpm range the car will buck a bit in first or have this feel of power loss in the higher gears. also when i slip the clutch into 1st i hear this metallic clicking noise when the 1st engages. Bought the car used at 50k and now has 75k miles on it any help would be awesome.

thanks

the metalic clicking is probably your synchromesh gears. If you haven't changed the tranny fluid do so, that's a good place to start and see if that quiets it down.

The other issue could be a several things but I'd be looking at cleaning your injectors and checking your plugs.
good luck

I've had the bucking for awhile too. I did the map whack, which can be found on the DIY sticky, and it seemed to get rid of it.

thanks a lot for such quick replies read the MW thread and will be under the hood tonight. My only question that remains is how much oomph should be behind your whack?
