Default Buzzing Noise In Cabin When Braking

Lately, whenever I have the top up and apply the brakes, I hear a very slight (barely audible) buzzing noise in the cabin. It stops immediately when I let off the brake pedal, but comes back when I reapply it.

If anyone knows what this could be, plz let me know.

BTW: Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I have disconnected the switch that attaches to the brake fluid reservoir. My floatie broke and, rather than drive around with the brake light on all the time, I simply disconnected it. The fluid is currently at or very near the "MAX" line.

Have you checked the condition of your pads and rotors?

Yes. They're fine (as I would expect them to be, since they're only 10 months old, with less than 2,000 "un-tracked" miles on them).

In your list of mods you have "Spugen Cross-Drilled/Slotted CAD Rotors"... cross drilled rotors do make a slight buzzing sound when applying the brake.. its completely normal if thats what yours talkin about...

the way mine sounds is if you brake lightly you can hear the buzzing/scratching sound of the rotors.. if you brake a lil harder you dont... had this sound on 3 cars with cross drilled/slotted rotors... wonder if thats what your hearing

Well, I doubt that's the cause here. I've had the rotors for 10 months, and only just started hearing the noise in the last 2 weeks.

You know there is a repair kit that Honda sells for this problem, it takes about 2 minutes to do and cost less than 8 dollars. Its an updated float and a new screen for the master cylinder.

The Service bulletin you are refering to does not apply to the S. The S's float is built into the master cylinder reservior.

Check the inside pads for wear. They often wear faster than the outside pads so even if you glanced at the outer pads with or without removing the wheel there's no guarantee that the inner ones are fine...and that's where the factory wear sensor is. If the pads are nearing the end of their service life and you're running a street pad, they'll have a small piece of metal that rubs against the rotor when the pads wear. On an OEM disc it makes a squealing noise, on a drilled/slotted one it will likely make a different noise...like a buzzing sound.
