I'm not sure if its related to my CEL problem I'm still having, but when I drive and speed up, should my rpm get up to about 4k I get this buzzing sound, almost like a fly or something similiar to a electrical buzz. It only seems to happen between 4-5k rpms and does so at every gear. Any advice on whats going on, or did I get a colony of flies living in my engine, thanks for any info.

 

Can you pinpoint where the noise is coming from? Tranny? Engine? Does it happen when you hit 4-5k while in neutral? How about at 4k with the clutch disengaged?

 

The noise appears to be coming from the engine, above the dash. It doesn't happen when the car is in neutral and I'm reving it. It only occurs when its engaged in a gear and I accelerate.

 

do you have a Short Shifter???
