Default Strange noise while driving

Hello all,

Been hearing strange grinding noise when speeding up and slowing down normally (not booting the car), in gear specifically @ 2800 rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear.

Seems to be more noticeable when engine is cold, once engine has been running for a while, noise disappears?!

Has anyone come across this before? gear box problem? engine sh*gged?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Discs sticking a bit? I'm sure the FAQ has something about this, can't quite remember though - sounds familiar... Do a search maybe?

Maybe the car groaning as it's going so slow!

Will check out FAQ, strange its only specifically at 2800 rpm. As soon as I go above or below this specific rpm...noise disappears.

your may be right....car purrs nicely when driven at correct speed...

it looks to be common problem on the older girls...clutches 'ring' occassionally, something to do with clutch spring...

also found notes regarding...Technical Services Bulletin 054?

does anyone know If I can use this to get honda to sort my 'ringing clutch out'?

Thanks ppl!

It was at the time a fix they offered if you asked (not a safety recall like the seatbelt / tonneau cover).

I asked and got them to put new gearbox oil in at the same time (supplied) for nothing...
