There are plenty of us the USE the A/C at the track.. when stuck on the grid or hot pit when it is 110F it is nice to cool off.. in fact I know of some that use it on the warm-up and cool-down laps. That little bit of relief for the driver may cut ten times the lap time than not spinning a freewheeling pulley.
I am sure there will be some that would rather not do it, but I haven't used my A/C for anything other than turning on the radiator cooling fans. Unless I've got the top up, daily driving, my A/C remains off.

How difficult is it to swap the belts out?
It is very easy to swap belts. You need a 14mm wrench to rotate the auto-tensioner and remove tension from the belt. You can then slide the belt off. Same procedure to put the new belt on. It takes less than one minute.
