Default Cam install guidence please

I'm installing an AP1 intake cam in my AP2 and would appreciate some input/directions from anyone who has experience.

I'm good up to the point where the valve cover is off and the engine is set to top dead center.

I would greatly appreciate any guidence past this point, including any torque specs and torque sequences.

It doesn't look too difficult, however I'd know as much as possible before I dive in.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Buy a Helms service manual. It has all the info you need.

definitely buy the helms. Its really easy to do. When taking off the caps, keep the bolts in the holders. I have switched an ap1 intake into my ap2, but didnt do back to back testing to see any gains. Let me know if your gas mileage decreases, because mine has after the swap!

I'm trying to avoid having to buy a manual if I can. Is there a torque spec or sequence to the cam caps?

Yes, there is. It's in the service manual.

Trust me, if you're going to be tinkering with these kinds of things, you need to spend the $70 to buy the manual. You'll be better off for it.

If anyone is willing to provide any info besides buying the manual it will be greatly appreciated.

On the other hand, just so I get the right book if it comes to it, is this the right one?

Heres a link to the 00-03 service manual if that will help. I don't know if it has anything about installing the camshafts but it'd be helpful to have anyways... even though you have an AP2, the AP1 service manual shouldn't be too much different.

Hope this helps out.
