Can't shift into 5th or Reverse.
At first I had a missing part # 8 (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=266207) after removing the shifter I found the pivot #8 was missing. After ordering and putting (greasing in and out of it) on the new pivot, I tried to shift into 5th gear it felt stuck and the same with reverse.
I tried with the engine on and off. The clutch fluid and stuff is fine because it was just serviced. Do you think its the missing/broken part #8 pivot that's causing the problem? I tried searching for it but its too narrow to see. Thanks for any insight.

the #8 piece is white plastic. taking ou tthe shifter stick youshould see it at the base (it willbe covered in grey grease).
There are 2 things I can think of:
1) didn't put the stick back in properly, maybe you have it in at an angle or something, but I doubt this.
2) 5th and 6th gears share a countershaft, and skipping gears and/or reving 1st or 2nd to vtec and then going to 6th will damage this. I don't know if it effects reverse though. Anyway if the countershaft is damaged you won't be able to shift into 5th.

Is it possible that the part #8 is stuck somewhere below and making it hard not to shift to 5th or reverse?
Today, I drove the car and I can actually shift to 5th and reverse now. But it seems like 5-6 shift is sharing the same shift pattern as 3-4 shift. Its odd but it works. The stick doesn't have the part 8 pivot cover, it cracked and I reordered another one, hope this solves it.
