car hesitates when RPMs are between 2k and 3k
i'll be honest; i have always been a honda guy (with revvy engines like the RSX, TSX, & now S2000) but when i'm driving normally downtown where there are lots of cars, i tend to keep the engine running around 2,500RPM and i shift by 3,500-3,900RPM. i've found that if i shift from 1-2 or 2-3, give it some gas (maybe 4/10 on the throttle) and the engine is spinning under 3,000RPM, the car will hesitate for about half a second, and then suddenly accelerate. this is not heat soak, and this is not me with my foot halfway on the clutch. what could it be, and is it normal? is it just the car finding a spike in torque around 3,000RPM? i have never seen a torque curve on a stock S2000.
this hesitation doesn't happen if i'm shifting up around 5,000RPM.

it just doesnt make power under 3k. i drive above 3k all the time. i know what you mean, it kinda feels like you're being slingshotted when it hits 3k you go, but thats just how these engines are. yeah its better than the ap1 down low, but its still not a v8. my dad's cl500 you can drive around town and pretty much anywhere under 1.5k yet it revs to 6somethingk
