most often after a carwash or after sitting for a day. when i start it up it runs great then as soon as its warm and i go to hit vtec the first time it sounds like its flooded or somthing and the rpms just start dropping even tho i try to keep the reves up then at about 2000 rpm it catches back on and runs great for the rest of the time.

this doesnt happen all the time its really odd

Or you might not be letting the car warm up properly vtec will not engage untill the engine temp gauge has 3 bars lit up its an oil pressure thing. Hopefully someone who can explain it better will chime in

 

^ i know that . thats why i mentioned i wait until it was warm. even then when you hit 6k when its not warm it just bounces off like a revlimiter. this is more like the feeling of being out of gas momentarily

i had a weird thing where in first gear it would stutter like it was hitting a rev limiter at 7500 rpm and the car was warmed up. going into second it went through vtec flawlessly. it's happened a few times and it has only been in first gear.

i also recently changed to a prm intake and berke high flow cat. still working on breaking in the 4.77s too. i'm thinking (maybe hoping) it's just that the ecu hasn't adjusted to the increased air flow and increased exhaust flow yet 'cause i haven't been driving the piss out of the car yet.

 

i have a aem v2 and test pipe but iv had them for a while
