Default Car sways when letting go of the accelerator

Hello everyone!

Age has been getting the best of my S2K, the car is almost 6 years old and the handling is nothing like what it used to be at all. My problem is that when I'm driving at speed above 60-80 MPH while stepping on it, as soon as I completely let go of the accelerator, the car instantly feels extremely light and slightly sways to the left and right, having such an experience that's very close to losing control over such speeds is pretty scary. The general handling of the car has become really horrible, I was trying to take a normal turning at a moderately high speed, I went SO wide, I was about to crash into the side pavement (almost gave me a heart attack!).

I'm not sure if I'm starting to feel like this because I've been driving my Evo X regularly, I really doubt so, the S2K's handling used really good, I really don't know what went wrong. Do guys have any idea how can I fix this? New sway or strut bars perhaps?

Is this just a recent problem? The car just started doing this?

I would hope that the shop that did the alignment checked your tire pressures before the alignment. The only time I experience swaying is with low tire pressure on a corner of the car.

This problem just started as soon as I got myself new tires (245 40 R17, i think these are similar to my stock '07 AP2 tires), and it kept on getting worse from there.

I had the alignment done at Honda themselves, doubt the tires are out of pressure, though i'll go to a tire shop and check the pressure myself.

Did they give you your alignment specs after they finished?

Definitely check your tire pressures. This car is really very sensitive to tire pressure discrepancies from left to right.

Anything else happen to the car recently? How long was the car sitting before you drove it?

Very first thing to check is tire pressures, the most common cause of power on/off stability problems. After verifying you can move on to less obvious troubleshooting.

Is it snowing outside?

It seems like your saying your on the edge of losing control. After checking and rechecking the tire pressure and looking over the alignment specs take a look at your motor mounts, if the motor is moving around it can cause the car to handle differantly. Also check the tire tread depth on the rear tires. If they start to get low the rear will feel loose. I need new rear tires and if i get stuck in the rain driving over the center lines shakes the backend enough to give you a scare.

this may sound stupid, but did you check your tire pressure? if one is off the car will sway around a bit when you let off the throttle
