Hi all,

My S doesn't get used very much at all any more, it ran fine last time i drove it, 2 weeks later it had problems. On a cold start the revs go to 2k as as normal but then immediately drop to 1k, hitting the throttle makes the engine die. I get CEL P0107/P0108 map sensor high/low

I have cleaned iac & map sensor with no change, i have a VAFC II installed and the PRS reading changes which makes me think that the map sensor is responding and not faulty.

Any ideas what the issue could be?

That is with a cold motor, cel is for the map sensor.

I have cleaned the map sensor, the sensor does give a signal to my VAFC and responds. I have clean and tested the pcv. I have checked the coil packs and spark plugs.

The car drove perfectly the last time it was used, 2 weeks in the garage and this issue has occured.

Did your battery die?
Did you tune your part throttle ? (Hopefully not)

I would let the car run through its high idle
Til you see 3 bars

 

Battery has been run flat a few times (is due for replacement) and the issue is it wont idle high for the motor to warm up.

 

Motor should warm up at idle may just take awhile.

Possible a low battery is affecting the idle learn procedure...anyone know?

 

well it seems to me, if the CEL is saying there is an issue with the map sensor.... replace it. Its possible it just went bad...

 

Problem resolved. It was a faulty VAFC II Black.......
