Default Car won't start.

I haven't driven my s2k for about 3 days. During that time, the temperature has dropped to about 0 degrees or lower. Now, I can't start my car

The radio lights and everything come on. When I turn the key, the car makes a rapid ticking sound. I don't know how else to explain it. I tried to jump start it but same thing happened.

Anybody know what this could be? The starter perhaps? I'll try to get a video of the problem tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a dead battery... Having the radio and lights come on is no clear indiaction of a good battery. It really just sounds like a dead battery.

And also how are you trying to jump it and if possible get a multimeter on it and see what it read. It should read about 12.3 or so. If you have about 9v you may have a shorted cell.

If you have a dead cell/shorted cell, jumping the car without removing the battery (might) not let it crank, since the bad battery itself will steal some current from the good battery. I've had this personally happen before.

just my 2 cents.

Yeah, it should be the battery. Same thing happened to my dad's car.

Glad you posted OP. I just had this happen too, was thinking battery but not sure. It fired up as soon as temps crested 40 degrees.
