Castrol GTX Label
Hey Guys... I've searched the oil threads to death and had settled on Castrol GTX Drive Hard for my first oil change ('08 w/less than 3K miles on it). Wanted a dino oil to continue break in etc. When I got to Kragen to purchase there were two varieties?? The 10w-30w GTX was labeled "Superior Sludge Protection", while the 5-40 was the "Drive Hard" that I have seen the performance data on. I want the spec'd 10w-30w.
At first I thought it was simply a different slogan with identical oil, but the 10w-30w Sludge Protection is energy conserving and the Drive Hard 5w-40w is not. I suspect they only make one 10w-30w GTX oil as they only show the Sludge Protection on the Castol site now but thought I'd ping the group.
Can anyone confirm this was maybe just a running slogan change? No issue with "Energy Conserving" oil during break-in?
BTW: Let's all play nice... I really did try to do my homework before posting so as to not get the "Oh God, another oil post!". Thanks in advance for your help.
