Default CEL P1259 with JDM engine

Ok so i just bought a JDM F20c and had it installed while leaving the USDM ECU onboard to pass emissions but after install im having a P1259 code bein thrown up and my Vtec wont kick in, its almost like hitting a rev limiter when it should kick in. I have tried to have it cleared several times now and no one seems to be able to clear it. The guy i had put the engine in for me said its a Vtec solenoid error but he cant do much for it so with the checkin up ive done it seems like some people have straight wired it to fix problem but idk how to or if its even the best answer for the problem. So has anyone else had this problem with the JDM engine and if so whats best way to get it to clear and pass smog in cali? ECU reprogamed? Install a oil pressure sensor? Or just straight wire it?

Why not get an AP1 ECU F20. Wouldn't that work?

Im kinda confused by what your asking here. The engine i have is an F20 which is from an AP1 but its the jdm version which isnt workin with my usdm ecu due to small differences in engines. My understanding of this is the japanese version of the F20 doesnt have a oil pressure sensor to prevent Vtec from engaging when oil is low but the u.s. ecu is looking for it and cant find it causing it to disengage vtec.

I have a JDM s2000 and I can tell you there is an oil pressure sensor.
I also have a JDM ecu if you need one.

regards,

Johan

Right but I'm just not sure if the jdm engine is actually missing it or if it's just a vtec solenoid issue. I have the jdm ecu also but I'm trying to get the engine to pass smog and I need the usdm ecu for that which worked fine on old engine just not so great with this one.
