Default CEL P1519/Surging Idle

Driving along yesterday and popped a CEL. Idle was high and surging (1500 to approx 1800) and decel and accel were very touchy.

Pulled the code, was P1519. Cleaned the IAC with carb cleaner and toothbrush, installed, pulled neg terminal to reset CEL, no change.

Today I borrowed my buddies IAC and cleaned it up, and threw it in. Reset CEL and....the first 10 sec I thought it was fixed, then the idle went crazy. Went to 1500 and then surged higher, up past 2000 or so. I didn't drive it but the CEL never came back on.

I havent gotten that 5 point torx bit yet so I havent cleaned the IAC as well as I'd like to, and thats next.

Any other ideas?

Thought about that, but it seemed much worse than just relearning the idle.

I had the same problem, it would act up on the first start, I would unplug the iac so I was able to drive the car and plug it back in and it to idle normal again. I cleaned it once and it was ok for about two weeks and acted up again. I got tired of it so i replaced the iac and no problems since.
