Default Is changing brake pads a difficult job?

My brakes are squeaking, so I'm thinking it's time to change my pads. Is this an easy job, or something best left to professionals?

Nope. Pretty easy. Cthree wrote up a tutorial:

You might want to check the faq thread at the top of the forum for basic questions like this. That's where I found this link .

Thank you. I have the FAQ thread in my 'favorites,' but I just had to ask how hard it was, because sometimes people like Xviper manage to make things sound much easier than they are

Gotcha. As far as ease I can tell you that many of us will drive the car to the race track, then remove street pads and put on race pads, and then do the reverse at the end of the day. It's pretty easy.

I'd say it's pretty easy, once you know how to do it. Track junkies get very used to doing it (twice for every track day).

If you're familiar with doing jobs like this, then the tutorial should cover it. If not, see if you can find someone who's done it before on the S2000 to help you through it the first time.

In defense of Xviper (who neither needs it or will waste his time doing it for the 6,234th time), he doesn't make things "sound" much easier than they are. For some people they actually are easy. Many on this board are in the habit of trying to help, it is up to you to know if something is beyond your abilities. Not trying to bust your chops, but I understand why some people get tired of trying to help. Good luck.
