check engine light=slower car?

same thing happened to me,
ive got a scanner though, it was the knock sensor

well had it checked out they said i need a #1 O2 sensor which was supposedly what i the guy fixed the first time and chraged me around 400$with labor to repair and now i had to get a new one from honda which was 300$ *sigh* but the exact same way my car is running did it happne to u?because my greatest fear is that im gonna get this fixed and the problem wont be gone at all?

Make sure it's a bad sensor, not just a bad wire.

Why don't you check and make sure it's pluged in. Or better yet, the #1 sensor may be screwed into the #2 hole (the cat). The 02 with the blue wire should be in the cat, the one with the white wire should be in the header.

This is a common mistake when replacing the clutch

code was 0135 oxygen sensor 1 bank 1 i got the new oxygen sensor and my car runs fine now but i had the guy reset it but it wont turn off do i have to take it to honda?

First, how did he "reset" it? Maybe he didn't do it right.
Next, you may have another code still in there. There may be something else wrong.

I agree, actually I see people use that terminology alot. Technically I think an ECU is reset and a DTC is cleared. People always say "I reset the code". Clearing a DTC by resetting the ECU is more like a side effect. Although I believe the Helm's say's that if you don't have a scan-tool an ECU reset is the correct the procedure for clearing a CEL DTC. I also dislike seeing people "reset the code" by disconnecting the battery.
