Default check engine light came on today

I checked the vaccuum lines and they are routed exactly according to xviper instruction. I pulled the back up fuse just like xviper recommended twice and the light was off for a day and then it came back. The car runs ok the intake screams like a mother and everything is fine except for the stupid light. I checked the gas cap and made sure it was tightended. Anything else should I look for? Should I unplug the battery as the last resort? Please help....

No, don't disconnect the battery. It is now time to find out what the code is. Only this will help you to get to the bottom of what's going on.

It could still be a cracked vacuum line or a backwards white check valve or a bad gas cap or bad fuel filler pipe. You will never know till you get that code.

You can pull blink codes by jumping teminals 4 and 9 of the OBDII connector, but they are limited info codes...depending on what the code is, you may nip it...

Make sure the electrical wires you rerouted are fastened well clear of the fan belt. If they touch the belt they'll wear and you'll get a short causing the CEL light to come on. I know from experience.

Take it to Autozone (if theres one where you live), theyll scan your OBDII computer for free
