Default Checking Oil Level on an Incline

Ladies/Gentlemen,

I have a quick and quirky question... When checking your engine oil on an S2000, will the oil level read lower or higher on the dipstick if the car is parked on an incline (Nose up)?

Thanks!

I've never checked it like that due to an inaccurate reading but I would assume it would read low because of the dipstick being placed towards the front half of the engine

My dipstick is at the front part of the engine so the oil level will read marginally lower if the front of the car is higher than the rear.. Is yours different?

As long as the oil level is between the marks it's fine. There is no need to constantly refill it to the top mark.

Thanks everyone. Confirmed what I thought. I have a long drive in the morning and was checking my oil this morning on an incline with 1 X below the full line and was just curious if that meant I had marginally more or less oil then I was seeing.

Cheers!

Who knows if the distance between the marks represents one quart or liter or imperil quart. Depending on the market it's one of those but the exact unit of measure really doesn't matter. Lets assume it one liter (1000 milliliters) 'cuz the math is easy. There are five (5) Xs so each one is 200 ml or 7 fluid onces, less than a cup. And the engine holds 5.1 quarts (or 20.4 cups).

If you've checked the oil and it's down a tad and you have an open bottle of oil you may as well too off. But some engines will drop the oil level and then maintain it seemingly forever though.
