Default Chipping the S

I was thinking about this as my first major mod., only thing is i dont know much about them. I was thinking that there may be a chip that would have vtec kicking in at lower rpms, is that possible? Other then that how much boost could a good chip do for our car, and i guess more important than that is how much do they usually run? Im sure there are plenty of posts to answer this somewhere, but the search is not working today so any advice would be greatly appreciated, again this is not a topic i know much about so if ive made no sense to this point, could someone put me in the right dircetion.

What your looking for is a Apexi V-AFC. This will allow you to do exactly what you talking about. You can try doing a search,

Apexi V-afc vtec controller

Happy hunting

There aren't really any chips for the S... The V-AFC can give you some decent gains if you're willing to spend the time on the dyno to tune it, and there's the AEM EMS which can get you even more - but that thing is so complicated that tuning it is beyond what most shops can do.

I would assume you mean "more power" by "boost" since there's no turbo... If you meant turbo boost...you might want to learn a little more about the car before doing anything.

Basically, if you really want more power, FI is the way to go. Small gains can be had with I/H/E and and a V-AFC but we're talking maybe 10%...and that's pretty optimistic.

There is always the option of a mugen or spoon pre-programed ECU, but the price is a little high. From king 1500 on the mugen and from inlinefour.com 1800 on the spoon, dont know what kinda deals you can get elsewhere...

nobody knows the programming of the S2000 chip (yet). I think I also read on another thread a while ago that the chip used in our car is a proprietary Honda chip (made only for Honda). Somebody tried to buy one and they wouldn't sell to him.
